Several times world sailing champion in different series, at the helm of a Tornado in the Olympic Games, as a Volvo Round the World Racer, not to mention as a mother, Carolijn Brouwer is quite simply amazing. We are honoured to welcome her to La Grande Motte. Photo D.R. Australia's Darren Bundock was supposed to take part in the 22nd Trophée Clairefontaine of Sailing Champions. But a contract with Team Oracle to defend the America's Cup signed at the end of August has prevented him from coming to La Grande Motte. Carolijn Brouwer from The Netherlands is taking his place. Carolijn is the only woman to have helmed a Tornado catamaran in the Olympic Games (Beijing 2008), to have sailed in three Olympics in three different series (470, Europe, Tornado), to have taken part in the Volvo Ocean Race, to have won several world championships, and to have been named ISAF World Sailor of the Year 1998. She's a phenomenon in international sailing in her own right!
